IMath-MALA at ILAS 2025 in Taiwan
Members of the Matrix Analysis and Linear Algebra (MALA) Group from the Institute of Mathematics, University of the Philippines Diliman were among the active participants in the 26th Conference of the International Linear Algebra Society (ILAS 2025), held on June 23-27, 2025, in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The conference brought together researchers from around the world to share recent work and explore new directions in linear algebra and its related fields.
Participation in ILAS 2025 was particularly significant for the MALA Group, as the conference aligns closely with the group’s core research areas in matrix analysis and linear algebra. The MALA Group was well represented at the conference, with several members presenting their research across various sessions and some co-organizing special sessions. Topics included matrix decompositions, sign patterns, symplectic eigenvalues, and numerical ranges, highlighting the group’s diverse research interests. MALA Group members in attendance included Issa Abara, Nicole Datu, Kennett Dela Rosa, Kae Mark Domingo, Angelo Galimba, Paolo Joven, Eloise Misa, Prince Pelayo, Aedan Potot, Jenny Salinasan, and JP Santos. They were joined by I-Math graduate students Clint Angeles (GGR Group) and Erika Enriquez (NASC Group), as well as I-Math alumni Minnie Catral (Xavier University) and Hermie Monterde (University of Manitoba).
