Science Summer Institute 2025 (Mathematics and Statistics Track)
Five students from the Institute of Mathematics attended the Science Summer Institute 2025 (Mathematics and Statistics Track) held at the National University of Singapore from July 8 to 17, 2025.
Participants:
- Mark Lois Fortin (MS Applied Mathematics)
- Sherwin Parena (MS Mathematics)
- Phoemela Ison (BS Mathematics)
- Jeremiah Daniel Regalario (BS Mathematics)
- Stephen Edwreigh Santos (BS Mathematics)
The program featured advanced topics such as ergodic theory, modern portfolio theory, numerical computation in quantum systems, quantitative finance, game theory, artificial intelligence, machine learning, cryptography, graph theory, convolutional neural networks, and deep learning (and so much more!).
Aside from gaining valuable academic insights, the students had the opportunity to connect with distinguished professors, NUS students, and peers from various universities, fostering meaningful exchanges and collaborations.
Outside the university, they also immersed themselves in Singapore’s vibrant culture and explored its rich heritage and iconic sights.
We commend our students for their enthusiasm and dedication in making the most of this enriching academic and cultural experience.
