IMath faculty member at the International Conference on Class Groups of Number Fields and Related Topics 2025
Ms. Iana Angela C. Fajardo, Instructor at the Institute of Mathematics, University of the Philippines Diliman, was among those who gave young scholars’ talks at the International Conference on Class Groups of Number Fields and Related Topics (ICCGNFRT) – 2025.
The ICCGNFRT is a conference that aims to bring eminent number theorists and young scholars worldwide in the domain of algebraic number theory, on a common platform to project their work and foster collaborations to further the development of mathematical research. Some areas of interest include: ideal class groups of number fields (algebraic, analytic, and computational aspects), relative class numbers of number fields, annihilators of class groups, class field theory, Picard groups, Selmer groups, Diophantine equations, elliptic curves, Iwasawa theory, and modular forms among others.
The latest edition of the conference was held from October 6–10, 2025 at SRM University-AP, Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh, India.
The week included talks by invited professors and young scholars’ talks by Ph.D. scholars and postdoctoral fellows. Ms. Fajardo was the only Filipino participant in this year’s conference. Her talk was on “imaginary biquadratic fields with small even class numbers.”
During the closing ceremony, those who gave young scholars’ talks were given a token of appreciation. Among them, Ms. Fajardo was especially recognized and was instead awarded a plaque as “many speakers were impressed by her talk.”
The conference concluded with the organizers’ words of thanks and closing remarks.
