Dr. Nicole Joy P. Datu wins Best Oral Presentation Award at the 13th ASTHRDP Graduate Scholars’ Conference

Dr. Nicole Joy P. Datu, Assistant Professor at the Institute of Mathematics, received the Best Oral Presentation Award in Category 5: Mathematical and Computational Sciences (PhD) at the 13th ASTHRDP Graduate Scholars’ Conference, organized by the Accelerated Science and Technology Human Resource Development Program (ASTHRDP) under the Department of Science and Technology–Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI). The conference was held on September 18–19, 2025, at Limketkai Luxe Hotel in Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental.

She presented her dissertation work, On Strongly Φ-Reversible Elements of the Symplectic Group, conducted under the supervision of Dr. Ralph de la Cruz.

The Institute of Mathematics was represented at the conference by three oral presenters: Nicole Datu (PhD), Adrian Andal (MS), and Alexander Magtangob (MS). Their participation underscored the excellence and depth of research at the Institute, spanning different areas of mathematical and computational sciences.

The Institute congratulates Dr. Datu for this recognition and commends Adrian Andal and Alexander Magtangob for showcasing the strength of IMath research at a national platform.
