Title: Lie Polynomial Characterization in Associative Algebras
Abstract: Important classes of associative algebras that have been studied in algebraic combinatorics and mathematical physics are generated by elements that obey commutation relations that contain expressions that bear similarity with the commutator operation in an associative algebra, which gives the associative algebra a Lie algebra structure. If these commutation relations cannot be expressed in terms of only Lie algebra operations on the generators, then the Lie polynomial characterization problem in the associative algebra is nontrivial. Methods that resulted to full and partial solutions to nontrivial Lie polynomial characterization problems shall be presented.
