Mathematica Seminar at UPD IMath

We are pleased to announce a seminar entitled “Wolfram Language in Mathematics Education & Research”, to be held on 08 May 2023, Monday @ 4-5:30 pm, at MB 118 Institute of Mathematics, UP Diliman.

This seminar is designed to provide participants with a hands on introduction to Mathematica, a powerful computational software program widely used in scientific research, engineering and education. The speaker is Mr Farid Pasha, a Wolfram certified trainer from Wolfram Research, Inc., Champaign, Illinois.

The seminar will cover the following topics:

  1. Introduction to Mathematica: Getting started, Manipulate, Teaching Resources, Demonstrations project, Accessing Wolfram|Alpha curated data, Documentation center.
  2. Symbolic Computation: Computation with symbolic expressions, including polynomial operations, solving equations and functions from calculus.
  3. Numerical Computation: Fitting data, interpolation, integration, solving equations, differential equations, linear systems, and working with large arrays.
  4. Visualization and Graphics: Two- and three-dimensional plotting, plotting data, and creating dynamic and interactive graphics.
  5. Special topics of interest: Calculus, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, Data Science & Statistics.

The seminar is open to anyone (affiliated with UP Diliman) interested in learning how to use Mathematica, regardless of their level of experience. Participants are encouraged to bring their laptops to the seminar, preferably with Mathematica or its 15-day trial installed. Registration is now open and will close on 03 May.
