Going Outside of UP Campus

The following jeepney routes can take you outside of the campus:

  1. UP Katipunan: These jeepneys are identified via their red roof and a sign on the windshield that reads “UP KATIPUNAN”. You may take these jeepneys if you want to go to UP Town Center or to Ababu Persian Kitchen.
  2. UP Philcoa: These jeepneys are identified via their green roof and a sign on the windshield that reads “UP PHILCOA”. You may take these jeepneys if you want to go to UP AyalaLand TechnoHub.
  3. UP SM North: These jeepneys are also identified via their green roof, but the sign on the windshield reads “UP SM North”. You may also take these jeepneys if you want to go to UP AyalaLand TechnoHub.
  4. UP Pantranco: These jeepneys are also identified via their green roof, but the sign on the windshield reads “UP Pantranco”. You may also take these jeepneys if you want to go to UP AyalaLand TechnoHub.

UP Town Center

UP Town Center is a mall that is very near the Institute of Mathematics. There are plenty of dining options here, ranging from fast food chains to restaurants. There is also a grocery, pharmacy, money changer, and other retails stores here. This mall is pet-friendly, so you may see a lot of dogs just hanging around in the park.

There is a jeepney stop in front of UP Town Center for UP Katipunan jeepneys. You can also opt to hail a taxi at the designated taxi bays in front of the mall.

Going to UP Town Center from the Institute of Mathematics:
(Participants are advised to ask locals to guide them on their first trip.)
Walk east towards the National Institute of Physics (NIP) building.
Exit the gate and walk towards Katipunan Avenue.
Look towards the left for the footbridge near the mall.
Walk towards the footbridge and cross it to get to the mall.

Going to UP Town Center from University Hotel / UP Balay Internasyonal:
Walk towards the nearest jeepney stop (across Ilang-Ilang Residence Hall).
Ride the Ikot jeep and get off at Shuster St. (before the jeep enters the gate).
You will see a footbridge nearby.
Cross the footbridge to get to the mall.

Going to University Hotel / UP Balay Internasyonal from UP Town Center:
Walk towards the jeepney stop in front of UP Town Center.
*Ride the UP Katipunan jeep and get of at the waiting shed in front of Ilang-Ilang Residence Hall.
Walk towards University Hotel / UP Balay Internasyonal.

*Note: Sometimes, the UP Katipunan jeepney does not enter the UP Campus and lets the passengers disembark at Magsaysay portal instead. In this case:
Walk along Magsaysay Ave. towards Bocobo Hall.
Turn right at the first corner (along F. Ma. Guerrero St.).
Walk along F. Ma. Guerrero St. until you reach University Hotel / UP Balay Internasyonal.

Other restaurants with halal or vegetarian options

These restaurants are located outside of the UP Campus. Participants are advised to ask locals for guidance.
